Which is the reason I ended up with the PNY. One caution- my case is limited to cards that are no more than 4.4" tall. The PNY ran about ten degrees hotter, though was also very quiet. Running the Heaven benchmark it stayed well below 70 C (closer to 65). Once in the system, the GigaByte card was whisper quiet and quite cool. The card has no back plate or visible heat pipes. The PNY comes in a just a formed plastic container. A large copper heat pipe is visible at the top of the card. Just opening the box, the GigaByte card says quality- foam cushion, anti-static bag and little covers for each port. I had two cards to compare, the GigaByte WindForce 3 GB and the PNY VCGGTX10606PB.
